Our 1st Litter.........
Phanta, came into our lives in early May 2003. Originally she was brought as pet for the family but soon began enjoying showing once we were taken by the bug later that year at the Dukeries Gundog Show at the age of 10 Months.
Phanta, a beautiful Orange Roan, (Orange & White) Italian Spinone, is the most wonderful laid back dog we have ever owned, the breed is a pleasure to live with and after 5 years she is a treasured member of our family.
After much deliberation we decided to mate Phanta before she became to old to do so and have always wanted a "Phanta baby" for the family. The thought of having a Brody Grandchild in our house was really exciting. Brody ( Brody del Podere Antico at Wynsett) has always been a dog we have loved since meeting him at Linda Collins' Farm in Pleasley, Notts.
Linda Collins was a lovely lady who had bred and imported the breed in this country for many years, making the Wynsett affix well known throughout the Spinone World.
Sadly we lost Brody, who was living with some friends of the family locally, in July 2008. He had sired in his lifetime some 470 puppies and had become a legend in his own right. He will be sorely missed and for those that knew him, was a true ambassador of the breed.
So Phanta was mated to Rio (Ciro' del Mongioie at Montecani) a lovely new import from Italy. Rio is owned by Phanta's breeder Tracy Davies of the Montecani Spinone.
The birth of Phanta's puppies will not be easily forgotten as the 7 girls and 1 boy were born on their Grandads (Brody) birthday, 19th September 2008.
All of Phanta's "children" are thriving and doing very well, enjoying their time in our front room, the comfort of socialising with the rest of the family and the other dogs too.
